It's Three Question Thursday!

Three Question Thursday!

I bet you all thought I forgot! Let's review the rules:

It's time for everyone's favorite game show, Three Question Thursday where you get to play make believe and give your opinion on pressing matters within the club! Here's how we play Three Question Thursday: After the jump, you will find three (3) questions. Read these questions. A little lower down, you will find the comment section - take a moment, formulate your answers and type them into the comment box. Next, push the Post button- it's that simple! Let's play the game!

Star-divide

Question 1:

We've made it through the January transfer window without losing any major players. Do you feel this is a statement of future intent, or is it a fluke (meaning we'll dump many players over the summer?)

Question 2:

Speaking of dumping players, is the reported £15m investment plan to rework the reserves an acceptable allocation of funds to you?

Question 3:

Starting with the Villa match, which Demba scores more goals between now and the end of the season?

Get in and lets get some good craic going!

1. Probably a fluke, but I want to believe that players want to stick around because they see that something is being built here.
2. Absolutely. Squad depth is a problem. This is a solution, and a smart one at that. One way to compete with the big spenders with a little budget is to develop your own cost-controlled talent. That’s going to require an initial investment at the very least.
3. Ba.

Thanks for doing this, OSotP.

1. Little of both. Barring something changing between now and June Ba will almost certainly be gone in the summer, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see Tiote and possibly Cisse (depending on his form) venturing off as well.
2. Yeah, assuming it actually amounts to something other than a money pit and produces good talent.
3. Hm…I’ll go out on a limb and say Cisse. Dunno why. Power of the number 9?

1. If we get into Europe, then the majority of players will stay.

2. Yes.

3. Ba

Game on.

1. Please please be a statement of future intent. We dumped Nolan, Enrique and Barton last year for a paltry 10M combined. If we are selling players we had better be making much better business than last year. Then, that revenue must be reinvested in the squad. I don’t think I’m alone in saying that I would be ok with selling anyone at the right price, but the money we make should be used to acquire new talent as soon as possible.

2. Well the money is going somewhere to improve the team, albeit a bit indirectly. Paul Gascoigne was a youth product of ours so who is to say that we can’t develop another player with his skills (and with none of his flaws)?

3. I think they will score the same amount of goals… maybe 8 each if we are lucky, so about a goal every other day. They could alternate!

1) I think that they have been told to be awarded if they can reach Europe positions (maybe with a new contract, maybe with the ‘acceptation’ of a transfer request or the assurance to be sold if a big-team offer arrives), so I think that the work done here to reach the objectives is very good work.

2) Definitely YES, to be a really-big team we need to ‘create’ our own cracks, so I think is a good spend, now that we have fresh money

3) I’ll vote Ba, I think that papiss will do good work but Ba is Ba… xDDD

Question 1:

If we make it to Europe I think we keep our big players who include Tiote, Krul, HBA, and Ba. I could see Ba going in the summer if we dont make CL making us have to get an additional striker other than the 1 or 2 defenders we already need. I can also see HBA moving if he does not establish a starting role for himself by the end of the season. If we dont make Europe, I can see NUFC selling 2 or more of those players mentioned above. I just really think everything depends on how we do this season. Hopefully we will finish on a high which would help us keep our current players as well as helping us bring in new quality signings.

Question 2:

The more money we put into the youth system the better. I think NUFC should focus on getting more international youths compared to English youths because that would allow us to have a much wider net to search and could unlock some real quality talent. I think most international youngsters would pounce to be on a PL team other than if they are going to Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Question 3:

I see most people here say Ba will score more, and he has the best chance, but I will go the other way and say our new number 9 will score slightly more goals from now until the end of the season. Either way I dont care, as long as we get as many goals as possible. Go NUFC!

1- For me you can’t get away from the fact that Fat Mike is running the club completely as a financial business and will always buy or sell when the price is right, The biggest worry after the Cisse signing was that BA was leaving a worry that I believe will bear fruit in the summer.
2- Ditto the previous answer.
3- Since Cisse has to settle and prove himself I will go BA though Cisse does look a more of a goal hanger and may turn out to be our main goal threat very quickly.
