Right this moment, it seems like the Darlington pitch invasion is going to dominate the headlines for the rest of the year and cast a shadow over the entire season. Fear not. Last year, when a Sunderland fan attacked Steve Harper following the derby tie at the Stadium of Light, it looked like that story would never go away...until it did, 3 or 4 days later. Accordingly, I'm not going to weigh you down with a bunch of overanalysis about the event. I said what I needed to say, and you won't hear much more about it from me, unless there's actually some news about it. I did link to one story about it below, but I promise you there's actual football stuff in there too. Follow the jump for some quick hits on what's going on in the world of Newcastle United.

Pardew hopes to avoid fall-out from Friday night's trouble | The Northern Echo
Some more about the pitch invasion, but the big news is that Danny Guthrie COULD be out 6-8 weeks with an injured groin and Shane Ferguson had to have an X-ray on his leg, though the results of that test have not been reported. Neither will make the trip to the US. Speaking of which, I'm trying to compile a list of all the players that are going to the US, as well as all of the ones that will be going to Holland with the reserves. If you have a link, post in the comments.
